Tao Zhu Garden, an anti-warming green building

Core Pacific Group invests and builds “Tao Zhu Garden”, penthouse art housing, in Xinyi Planning District in Taipei City. Featuring energy saving and carbon reduction promoted in Kyoto Protocol, “Tao Zhu Garden” adopts the latest technologies to reduce energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions and set up a new benchmarking of sustainable green skyscraper.

“Tao Zhu Garden” builds “vertical forest in the city”: With the daylight from rotary floors, a large area of green balconies is set up. Every household has five trees about 3 to 4 m in height in a garden with an area of 162 square meter, forming an aerial forest; planting fences are set up on the first floor with the ratio of green cover reaching 245%. Plants can absorb carbon dioxide and dust and produce oxygen and moisture. In summer, they can form shades to assist in filtering the dirty air. In winter, they can keep warmth and ventilation and reduce energy consumption in buildings. This “breathing” forest building has been awarded the highest honor of energy in buildings around the world: prequalification of Gold-level LEED and accreditation of green buildings in Taiwan.

“Tao Zhu Garden” strives for planning of energy saving building: Solar panels with an area of 500 square meters and two wind turbines are set up in the attic, and the entire building uses energy saving lighting. Every year, the building can save 140,573 kw. Large glass curtains are adopted to obtain sunlight. Residents may enjoy the sunlight in daytime without switching on the light. Glass curtains adopt LOW-E double-layered glasses to reduced energy consumption and effectively achieve heat isolation, low reflectivity, high transmittance, and a cool living environment with water-proof, insulation, and air-tight effect. Residents may enjoy private and quiet living space. The project also sets up the rainwater recycling and irrigation equipment to save water consumption and achieve flood protection.

“Tao Zhu Garden” adopts many innovative thoughts and approaches in terms of building techniques and green ideas. If these ideas are gradually implemented globally, artistic green buildings like “Tao Zhu Garden” with longer life and higher safety can definitely solve pollution in every major city around the world and upgrade people’s quality of living to another level.
