Tao Zhu Garden, an innovative and energy-saving green building

Tao Zhu Garden Penthouse art building project is the model of building technology in Asia-pacific region as well as the artistic landmark in Chinese community. It breaks through the tradition idea of building technology and design and demonstrates an innovative concept.
Standing in Xinyi Planning District, “Tao Zhu Garden” adopts unique and whirling appearance, which is derived from the Chinese idea of Taiji generating two appearances. As the first “whirling artistic green building” in Taiwan, “Tao Zhu Garden” is designed by Vincent Callebaut, a top architect in France, who is one of top 50 winners of Green Planet Sustainable Green Building Award. With outstanding design concept of green building, Vincent expresses ideas of energy saving and carbon reduction and environmental protection through his work, which enjoys the reputation of “bio-information building”. In addition, he also combines the approach to business proposed by Tao Zhu Gong containing the spirit of inheritance and endless vitality of Taiji.
With this design plan, King Le, master in Innovative structure, is employed to create the design of “Tao Zhu Garden”, featuring the combination of mechanics and aesthetics, the swirling appearance, and structural materials which can increase the life of the building. Based on Vierendeel Truss with partial double-layered floors, the structure features large column-free space, flexible layout of kitchen and bathroom, and high load, pressure-resistance and shock-resistance. The substructure has the pile foundation with diameter of 2.5 meter built in the underground bedrock and adopts EPS of the U.S., which can fight against earthquakes with 7th level, the highest level, in Taiwan. Thus, duration of residential use is far longer than that of general steel reinforced concrete buildings.
